  • Destiny Quest: Destiny Quest allows you to search the library's entire physical collection (i.e. books, DVDs and audiobooks), as well as it's selection of ebooks from any Internet connected device.

Recommended Databases
  • World Book Encyclopedia: Use this Database to collect background information on your historical figure. Contains some periodical articles and primary sources. To access this database from home, click on "Find your school or library."
  • Gale Federated Search
  • Gale, Biography in Context: This database will provide you with a great reference article on your historical figure, as well as magazine, journal and newspaper articles. It has links to audio and video sources and recommends websites.
  • Gale, U.S. History in Context
  • ABC-CLIO databases: American Government, American History, Issues, Pop Culture Universe, The African American Experience, 
  • NBC Learn: Collections of video resources, primary sources, historic footage, images, mini-documentaries and text resources designed for use in the K-12 classroom.

Primary Sources
  • Historical Newspapers: Use this database to search through copies of The New York Times from the 1850's through 2008 and The Boston Globe from the 1870's through 1979.
  • National Archives, Docs Teach: Use this website to access primary sources from the American Revolution to contemporary United States.
  • Life Photos: A searchable collection of LIFE Magazine's photographs from the 1860s to the 1970s.
